Jenkins Arnold to Lead Development of Young Leaders

Carmeisha Jenkins Arnold has been named as the Program Coordinator for Apex, a new leadership program for 21 to 40 year olds. The program is an initiative of the Change Center Knoxville. Phyllis Nichols, retired CEO of the Knoxville Area Urban League, and Vrondelia (Ronni) Chandler, retired CEO of Project GRAD Knoxville, served on the selection team and will continue to provide mentoring support.

The Apex leadership initiative will launch in March. Apex is designed to cultivate a diverse talent pipeline for the Knoxville area that ensures emerging community leaders are prepared as seasoned leaders retire. Apex is commonly defined as the highest point or peak.

Jenkins Arnold has employed a wide range of skills, including program coordination, event management, and operational logistics to help implement conferences, summits, or individual and business intervention plans. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University and a Master of Arts in Ethics and Leadership from Johnson University. She is a National Mental Health First Aid facilitator, National Prepare and Enrich facilitator, and has served many years as an advisory board member for Relationship Builders. Jenkins Arnold is a proven leader with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to ensure long-term success for the Apex Leadership Initiative.
